Pennsylvania senator Pat Toomey joined Clay on Outkick the Show on Friday morning and reiterated several times that based on the data that he has, it is important to get back out there.
Clay opened the interview by discussing little league baseball before diving into more data as well as the reaction from Pennsylvania governor Tom Wolf on Ben Roethlisberger’s haircut.
Senator Pat Toomey on starting little league baseball:
“Yeah, I have a 10-year-old son, and we live in Lehigh County in eastern Pennsylvania. We are in a red zone, according to our governor, which means you’re supposed to hide under your kitchen table and not go outside. Based on all the data that I have, I’d sign up my son for little league baseball tomorrow.”
Senator Pat Toomey on Governor Tom Wolf’s reaction to Ben Roethlisberger’s haircut:
“Yeah, I’m certainly very disappointed. You know, I’m not sure exactly where Ben got his haircut, but I’m pretty sure he lives in the western part of the state and there are huge, huge sections, especially in the central and western part of Pennsylvania, where the Coronavirus almost never showed up. I mean, it’s amazing how low the infection rates and the fatalities are, with the exception of a few isolated cases, including nursing homes. And so, it’s just not true that going out and getting your haircut is a very dangerous act. It’s not. So, you know, the governor, unfortunately, has all barber shops banned right now and that does not need to be the case.”
